COLÓQUIO DO IFT

TÍTULO: Attractor Mechanism in Extremal Black Holes

PALESTRANTE: Dr. B. Chandrasekhar

INSTITUIÇÃO: IFT-UNESP

RESUMO:
Extremal black holes in supersymmetric theories of gravity and string theory exhibit an attractor mechanism, by virtue of which, the near horizon geometry and the black hole entropy are only dependent on the conserved charges. We shall discuss various applications of this mechanism to the physics of extremal black holes. In particular, some recent developments with regard to non-supersymmetric attractor mechanism in higher derivative gravity and string theory will be discussed.
